A sad day for Liverpool, whether they realize it or not.

Will Alsop's design for the Fourth Grace in Liverpool has been abandoned after it was declared "no longer viable." The building (also referred to as "the cloud") was to be the centerpiece of Liverpool's revival as a European Cultural Capital in 2008. The BBC reports that the plans were abandoned because of cost increases and a change in scope that made the plans unworkable.
